Biography: Professor Yulin Li is a Visiting Professor at University of Madeira (Madeira, Portugal), and an Associated Professor at the Engineering Research Center for Biomedical Materials of Ministry of Education of East China University of Science and Technology (Shanghai, China). He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2005 from Institute of Chemistry of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Beijing, China). He started his first postdoctoral work at Lille University of Science and Technology, France. In 2006, he moved to Biomaterials Center of National Institute for Materials Science (Tsukuba, Japan), and then to Department of Applied Chemistry of Kyushu University (Kyushu, Japan), as a postdoctoral researcher. He was an Assistant Researcher at Centro de Quiḿ ica da Madeira, University of Madeira, Portugal (2009−2014). He is a member of the Committee of Sports Medicine Branch of Chinese Research Hospital Association, and a member of 3D Printing Technology Branch of China Medical Biotechnology Association (China). He serves as an editorial board for International Journal of Astronautics and Aeronautical Engineering. He has published 1 edited book, and more than 70 SCI-indexed academic papers, including Chem. Rev. (2017, 2015), Chem. Soc. Rev. (2012), Acta Biomaterialia, Biomacromolecules. In the past five years, Prof. Li’s citation index (h-index: 18) has risen significantly with more than 1800 citations. His research focuses on controllable synthesis of biodegradable polymer-based materials, and development of environmentally-friendly/high-performance/multifunctional bio-based materials for engineering application and/or clinical translation.
